InstMC EoS Chairman Martin Kerlin - ( JW Fairbairn Ltd )
Martin is a Chartered Engineer with a background in projects, maintenance & gas turbine controls.  Presently, involved in a technical sales role with JW Fairbairn and focussed on field instrumentation and project delivery.
He has a strong business background and a wealth of supply chain experience.

InstMC EoS Secretary - Tim Waddell   (Exxon Mobil)
Tim has 20 years experience in the petrochemical industry.  He started as a technician with BP Chemicals in 1987 in their R&D Department.  Studied part time (day release) and graduated with honours degree in Instrumentation and Applied Physics in 1995.   
Tim worked for 5 years at BP Chemicals ethylene crackers as Manufacturing I/E engineer before moving to a role as I/E Asset Engineer for all three polymer production plants at Innovene. 
He is currently working as an Instrument and Controls Engineer for ExxonMobil at Mossmorran.  Tim is married to Nicola and has two children (Lara & Luke).  His interests include golf and running

InstMC EoS Treasurer - Scott McMartin - ( Clark Eriksson )
Scott is currently a Project Manager with Clark Eriksson, Falkirk, since Dec 2001.  Started Engineering life as an Apprentice Instrument Artificer at ICI Grangemouth in 1985, moved up through the ranks to Control/Electrical Engineer, while studying part-time for an Electrical Engineer Honours Degree.  Eventually got to position of Plant Engineering Manager, until Dec 2001, by that time company had changed to Avecia.  In 2001 got Chartered, and member of IMC and IEE.   Areas of speciality: Maintenance techniques, Fault Finding; Hazardous Area Approvals, Safety Instrumeted Systems and now Project Management.

EoS Committee Member - Louise Bristow - ( Forth Valley College )
Louise has been a lecturer in Measurement and Control Engineering at Forth Valley College since 1990. She teaches a wide range of measurement and control subjects up to HND level to both UK and international students.  She brings a wide range of experience from an educational background to the committee and general membership.

EoS Committee Member - George Gavin  - ( ExxonMobil )
George served his apprenticeship with BACO and then joined ExxonMobil at its Fife Ethylene Plant as an Instrument Technician. Completed his degree studies in 1996 &spent some time in Thailand and Singapore commissioning petrochemical complexes with ExxonMobil.
George is currently involved in a
project designing, installing and commissioning new Safety integrated Systems (SIS) / PLC's. 
George enjoys riding his 1980's Kawasaki motorcycle in his spare time.

EoS Committee Member - Stuart Williamson
Stuart is currently working as the Instrument & Electrical Asset Engineer for three Polymer plants at the Ineos Grangemouth site. Stuart started his engineering career as Apprentice Electrician at ICI Grangemouth in 1986, eventually leaving Syngenta in Sept 2006.  His first promotional step up was into the Design Office as a Control and Electrical designer in 1992. Since then he has held various roles in both Projects and Maintenance areas which have allowed him to specialise in E&I engineering (mainly in the specialist subjects of Hazardous Area, and Safety Instrumented Systems compliance) and also develop a working awareness of other engineering disciplines. During the period between 1999 to 2004 he studied part time and obtained an Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering, finally achieving chartership in May 2005. These roles have given him experience in the following areas: Maintenance requirements and techniques; Equipment specification and selection; Plant commissioning /start up support; and Project management. He is married with two children and tries to find time for golf.

EoS Committee Member - Simon Sheehan
Simon is currently an E&I Engineer for the refinery with Ineos
Grangemouth. He started his apprenticeship with ICI in Grangemouth in 1991, before taking a plant support role in 1997.  In 2004 Simon moved to Syngenta's projects group, spending a year working with Clark Eriksson Associates.  In 2006 Simon moved to Macfarlan Smith in Edinburgh as an E&I Project Engineer, before moving to Ineos in October 2007.
Simon has been at university part time since 2001, and having completed an electrical Honours degree in 2005, is now studying for a Masters in Mechatronics and Control.
Outside work, Simon enjoys rock climbing and mountain biking.
