Expert Alumni… a New Service for Older Members of the Institute Print

Recognising the value of our seasoned members, the Institute has teamed up with Expert Alumni (www.expertalumni.com) to help both individuals and companies benefit from the expertise of the retiring workforce. Experienced professionals can offer a valuable potential for:

  • resourcing a short term task or filling a skills gap
  • building a team or getting a project off the ground
  • mentoring, coaching or training.
 

Bearing this in mind, the collaboration between the Institute and Expert Alumni involves  matching the expertise of Institute members with the needs of employers on a contract or part-time basis.

  

At no cost to themselves (this is met by the companies themselves), individual members will need to register with Expert Alumni and provide their ‘Life and Career DNA’, i.e. a profile that embraces job titles and tenure plus specific areas of expertise and preferences.   This will be used by Expert Alumni to find opportunities and roles that properly suit each individual profile.

 

Similarly, companies profile their requirements so that Expert Alumni can use its matching capability, considered by other institutions as ‘sophisticated’, to link  employers’ needs with  the available talent and skills.

 

So where is the catch?  Well, Expert Alumni is not just another search and recruitment agency.  It will register only those members with a significant track record of experience and proven expertise.

 

We very much hope that this service will benefit those members who have retired, or who are planning to retire, but who want to retain an involvement with industry.
